"NEVER HIROSHIMA"

JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN is pleased to announce the release of a message T-shirt titled “NEVER HIROSHIMA”.

Led by designer Arashi Yanagawa and a team with deep roots in Hiroshima, JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN has long contemplated how fashion can respond to the tragedy that struck their hometown 80 years ago. Yanagawa, whose grandmother was a survivor of the atomic bombing, has carried this message close to heart. This special T-shirt will be released on Friday, August 1st, 2025, as a statement of peace and remembrance.

First introduced in 2024, the “NEVER SURRENDER” T-shirt series expresses an unshakable spirit in the face of societal challenges and personal struggles. Building on that idea, the new design features the historical and symbolic number “063096,” which refers to the targeting coordinate used for the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima at 8:15 AM on August 6, 1945. This T-shirt speaks quietly yet powerfully to memory, pain, and a will that must never be forgotten.

“063096” is not just a number. It represents a moment in history when cities were controlled as grids, and human lives were reduced to numerical targets. The T-shaped Aioi Bridge, used as the bomb’s aiming point, was also a symbolic place where people intersected and civilization faced a crossroads. This cold and calculated number holds deep human sorrow and lost everyday lives. The word “NEVER” carries our intention to remember and never forget.

The “NEVER HIROSHIMA” T-shirt will be available from Friday, August 1st, 2025, at JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN flagship stores and through the official online store. It will come in two colorways: black and white. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the City of Hiroshima in support of preserving the Atomic Bomb Dome and advancing peace efforts.
